I’ve been putting coconut and jojoba oil on my face almost every night, is this a good idea? What other products can I use? I wanted to get a consumer’s input because it seems like every time I go to the store they recommend 10 different products! I feel like using so many different things would actually age my skin faster (I went to a natural store called Origins). I think this would be a good place to go but I just want to make sure they’re concentrated on my skin rather than selling the product…what do you think? How many products do you use and do they work? What would you recommend for me? (I used to have acne but got on the pill and started eating healthier and now it’s all cleared up; I just have some scars.)
Olay is tried-and-true, and I love their classic moisturizer for my face.
For someone in their 20s, prevention from damange is the most important thing.
Moisturizing and using a good sunscreen every day will stave off sun damage and wrinkles for a long time!
Look at consumer reviews on the best kinds of sunscreen for your skin + exposure type.
Be gentle with your facial skin, it is thinner than skin in other places on your body and so is more easily damaged, especially around the eyes!
I admit 5 months later and still seeking that I still have not found the best anti wrinkle/anti aging free skin care trial product yet! But with all these negative reviews, maybe Im not giving these products enough time to produce? Are there any good skin care maintenence products produced from these trials or all they all scams? Please refer me to any good, safe, and legit offers? Thank You!
Because there is no fountain of youth panacea skin cream. You cannot turn back time by putting a cream on your skin. These products appeal to vanity.
Face and body products please!
It’s not necessarily anti-aging, but I love the brand Cetaphil. They have quite a few products that are all perfume free, and they make your skin feel great.
I’m 21 and tried a little of my mothers olay total effects 7 in one anti aging cream wt spf 15 and loved it. I want to buy some of my own but am worried where i don’t need to use anti aging creams just yet. Will using this moisturizer harm my skin?
It shouldn’t hurt, however, note that the spf in moisturizers such as that one wears off in a short time. Don’t depend on that as a sunblock.
I’m a 30 year old guy and I’ve been using creams since I was 19. I don’t think you need to use a strong anti-wrinkle cream just yet though. I would put on a light moisturizer during the day and use a heavy night cream in the evening. That would be a good start. As I got older, I got department store brands like lancome (which is my fav). My wife always used their products, and that’s how I was introduced. They have age-specific products and even a day moisturizer with 30spf that actually lasts longer than an hour.
But at your age, over the counter stuff like Olay should be fine. I used Olay’s night cream when I was your age. It was pink and in a small glass jar. Don’t know if they make it anymore.
I’ve got good genetics, but at my age I look 3-4 years younger than my peers. Wife and I had a baby last year, and there is no cream strong enough to fight the aging we both got from that. So, I’m looking similar to those guys I’m comparing to. However, their expecting babies soon, so as they age from the baby stress, I’ll be back to looking 3-4 years younger than them again.
We are all too familiar with inflammation when it comes to an acute injury such as a sprain. Those suffering from chronic conditions such as arthritis and other joint and connective tissue problems know the very real pain and discomfort from ongoing inflammation. What most of us may not know however, is that inflammation can occur as a result of many diseases and disorders in the body. Many of these conditions produce what is called silent inflammation. In this discussion we will look at inflammation, silent inflammation and the natural inflammation remedies and natural inflammation supplements available to ist the body in better managing inflammatory situations at any level. It seems that the inflammatory related illnesses are on the steady rise. This is likely due to the fact that more people are aging than ever before, but certainly one of the major causes of these pro-inflammatory problems comes from the distinct shift in dietary habits, resulting in a diet much higher in pro-inflammatory agents than in the past. With the fear of saturated fats firmly instilled in everyone, people have switched to vegetable oils in the last decades. Vegetable oils, in general, are very high in Omega 6 fatty acids, which lead to prostaglandins, a very highly pro-inflammatory substance. In fact, the Standard Industrialized Diet now provides 20 times more omega 6 fatty acids and hence 20 times more prostaglandins than our diets of 60 years ago. The result of this ault on the chemistry of the body has produced increased inflammation at many levels within the body. We are seeing more arthritis & related conditions as well as dozens of other health conditions that are related to what is often called silent inflammation. This form of inflammatory response is so called because it is most often occurring below the pain sensory levels and is therefore not felt. Silent inflammation is at work as either a co-factor or direct result of such health concerns as acid reflux, acne, allergies, asthma, atherosclerosis, bronchitis, celiac disease, chronic pain, Crohns disease, cirrhosis, colitis, dementia, dermatitis, diabetes, dry eye syndrome, edema, eczema, fibromyalgia, gingivitis, heart disease, hepatitis, high blood pressure, insulin resistance, arthritis, obesity, osteoporosis, periodontal disease, psoriasis, scleroderma, sinusitis, spastic colon, systemic candida, tendonitis, and vaginitis. If you suffer from any of these conditions, your ability to manage them would greatly improve if you also took steps to naturally control inflammation. Natural inflammation remedies abound in the literature, but there are few that have been tested under clinical conditions and found to be the most effective. These natural anti-inflammatory supplements are best taken together as they provide greater support and protection against inflammation as a group. Since some of the major illnesses affecting our society are pro-inflammatory, such as diabetes and inflammation and heart disease and inflammation, it is good to know which natural inflammation supplements work the best. Certainly one of the most powerful natural anti-inflammatory herbs has to be tumeric. Tumeric or the active agent it contains called curcumin, has shown to be as powerful as the over-the-counter painkillers so many are addicted to. Unlike these drugs, called NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs), curcumin and many other natural agents, have no risk of side effects such as stomach upset, stomach bleeding or other gastric disturbances. Curcumin, the extract of tumeric, when combined with other natural anti-inflammatory herbs such as ginger, stinging nettle, boswellia, quercetin, and Devils claw can help to control the inflammatory process at many levels. Other natural anti-inflammatory supplements include dl Phenylalanine, glucosamine, and the Omega 3 fatty acid. Our research here at The Institute of Nutritional Science has shown that a combination of curcumin, dl Phenylalanine and boswellia extract is particularly powerful in helping the body to control inflammation naturally. Due to the great potential to help control inflammation naturally, we regularly use curcumin, the active ingredient in tumeric along with ginger, stinging nettle, boswellia, quercetin and Devils claw extracts in many of our various formulations. In addition to our diet and to the many illnesses described above that can add to the inflammatory load of the body, there are a couple of other factors that bear mentioning. Firstly, sleep deprivation can be a very pro-inflammatory situation. Sleep and inflammation have long been linked and in our faced paced society many people are sleep deprived on a somewhat regular basis.

I am turning 28 and I am noticing some wrinkles on my forehead and around my eyes. I have normal to dry skin and I was wondering what kind of cremes are best to prevent aging. I hear that Creme de la mer is great, but I also read that it has mineral oil in it. I would prefer a more natural creme. Are there any organic cremes out there that contain all the necessary nutrients the skin would require? Does a non-organic creme like LaMer actually work much better and would be good for long-term use?
Personally, if you are going to spend the kind of money you would on La Mer, I would opt for Kinerase instead. I think it’s a much better product. However, you will want to use a separate product for your eye area, since a rich cream can cause milia around your eyes, tiny little bumps of keratin that are very hard to get rid of. For a more organic line of skin care, try Aveda or Arbonne.
I wouldn’t do anything crazy (like chemical peels, ouch). But products like Neutrogena, Aveeno, Olay would be fine. They’re going to be more moisturizing than the products aimed at teens, plus a lot of the Neutrogena anti-aging lotions/creams have antioxidants, which are good for your skin.
Drink lots of water and take vitamins!
Oh, she’s right about the sunscreen! I’m going to sound like a Neutrogena commercial, but they have great sunscreens! I just got the dry-touch, and it’s really not greasy or heavy and gives great sun protection!
