If so, which one please.
Has it worked for you?
Your age?
Were you diagnosed with "chemical depression (imbalance)"
Please let me know.
Many years back, I had tried several for "major depression" due to a chemical imbalance, not a situational depression. But was not happy with any of them. And I hate to take medications.
so please, if you can share your experience in detail, i would greatly appreciate your time, thanks
I’ve battled clinical depression for much of my life. I’ve used Prozac for the past 11 years but it may be wearing off after all this time.
I’ve been researching natural remedies and so far L-Theanine works best for me. It’s derived from green tea. You can find it in most health food stores. I take about 800 mg a day. Choose from a good brand; I use Solaray. Try it for a week and see how you feel. I’ve read that there are very few side-effects with it.
I also take 2 grams of omega-3 daily. There was a study conducted where inmates at a prison were less aggressive after they received fish oil supplements. I use flaxseed instead of fish oil which doesn’t give a fishy aftertaste and isn’t contaminated with mercury.
Other natural options for depression include 5-HTP (which I’ve tried but it didn’t seem to have much of an effect) and SAM-e (which I can’t use since I’m taking Prozac, an SSRI). There may be others; try talking to someone in a health food store.
Good luck!

As Im sure you know anti-depressants effect everyone differently but will answer your questions.
I’m 24, and am on 2 anti-depressants for symptoms of borderline personality disorder and depression. I currently take Prozac (40mg) and Mirtazapine (45mg). I was on Prozac first, but it was still leaving me too low. Now I’m on both drugs I dont sink to the lows that I was and my mood is so much more stable Apparently Mirtazapine can help other anti-depressant work better, as well as working in their own right.
