Has it worked for you?
Your age?
Were you diagnosed with "chemical depression (imbalance)"
Please let me know.
Many years back, I had tried several for "major depression" due to a chemical imbalance, not a situational depression. But was not happy with any of them. And I hate to take medications.
so please, if you can share your experience in detail, i would greatly appreciate your time, thanks

I’ve battled clinical depression for much of my life. I’ve used Prozac for the past 11 years but it may be wearing off after all this time.

I’ve been researching natural remedies and so far L-Theanine works best for me. It’s derived from green tea. You can find it in most health food stores. I take about 800 mg a day. Choose from a good brand; I use Solaray. Try it for a week and see how you feel. I’ve read that there are very few side-effects with it.

I also take 2 grams of omega-3 daily. There was a study conducted where inmates at a prison were less aggressive after they received fish oil supplements. I use flaxseed instead of fish oil which doesn’t give a fishy aftertaste and isn’t contaminated with mercury.

Other natural options for depression include 5-HTP (which I’ve tried but it didn’t seem to have much of an effect) and SAM-e (which I can’t use since I’m taking Prozac, an SSRI). There may be others; try talking to someone in a health food store.

Good luck!

I am 25 with non-mature skin. I recently read an article that said even people with non-mature skin should be using age defying products on their skin to prevent wrinkles. I have looked everywhere for such products and all I have come across are products for mature skin or deep set wrinkles. I can’t seem to find any products tailored for young skin. Does anyone know of such products? Also, I am open to natural products and remedies. If possible, I try to use natural makeup and natural products that are paraben free. Thanks!

dizolie, I’m 20 I recommend what I use; Preve extreme anti aging by Isabella Pelle. It’s made specifically for fine lines/wrinkles. It has the highest concentration of "peptides" active ingredients to fight them. Also has the highest concentration of the best known moisturizer, hyaluronic acid. This has kept my skin baby smooth.
Last month they came out with a more concentrated version of Preve called Cura. It’s everything Preve except they concentrated it to extreme. I got it 2 weeks ago; it’s excellent. http://www.isabellapelle.com/antiagingcream.html What you need to do is decide which one works best for you. I recommend both.
You want to start now in your early 20’s not when you are in your 90’s and the damage is done but by then nothing really matters that much anymore.

I have an admission: I’m not exactly what nature intended. You see I have (or did before laser eye surgery) very poor eye sight. This is not un-natural in the sense that it does not occur in nature, it obviously does. But it is not what nature intended. If I were living in a pre-industrialised age, I would probably be dead very young due to this. But by saying this don’t think I’m making a hate speech against people with poor eyesight like me. I simply acknowledge that it is not natural or what nature intended me to be.

Does the same apply to Gay’s? Again I make no hate speeches here. I’m not saying that it’s not OK, or that Gay people in modern society are not just as productive and wonderful as anyone else. But surely it’s a mistake to repeatedly insist that it is natural. Clearly our species is designed for two genders with the goal of procreation. Now while in our modern age what is ‘Natural’ may be irrelevant (thank god for that with the eye sight I was born with!) but it is wrong to trying and insist that being Gay is Natural. Surely we can acknowledge that it is not natural, without automatically value ladling that statement.

Please don’t get defensive and try and tell me how stable and good same-sex relationships can be. I already know that and am not anti-gay in the very least.

Can we acknowledge that while being gay is OK. It is still not Natural?

Some people seem to be missing the point. I’m asking if its natural as it that’s what nature intended.

Cancer has occurred in hundreds of species over thousands of years. Yet that is not what nature intends to happen. Nor is it normal. Its an aberration in that sense. Not saying that its wrong from a social or moral sense. But purely from a sense of what nature intended.

I suspect that laying out a logical argument will be useless because you make contradictory statements but accept both of them as valid. You said, "This is not un-natural in the sense that it does not occur in nature, it obviously does. But it is not what nature intended." If something obviously occurs in nature, then it is obviously what nature "intended." (…and I’m not even going to get into what nature "intends," because nature isn’t any kind of a creature with "intentions").

First of all, the word "natural" is a rather slippery word because it cannot be equated with "desireable" or "undesireable." Having colds and the flu in the winter is total natural, but are these conditions "desireable?" They’re a bit like your near-sightedness – natural, but undesireable TO YOU (not to nature). On the other hand, being super rich, or super talented, or super good looking, or super intelligent are all "abnormal" in that they are not common, but they certainly are desired! But where does "natural" fit in? Are they "natural?"

The problem here is that you seem to be equating "natural," "normal," "majority rules" and "desireable" as all meaning the same thing. They do not mean the same thing.

In order to understand what is "natural," we need to look at nature. The best source for any proof about why homosexuality exists is to expand the search beyond human beings and to look at the rest of the animal kingdom. Homosexuality exists in nature, in over 1,500 species of animals and birds. Since this is true, then we must ask ourselves, what is the function of homosexuality in nature? It must be serving some purpose, so what is that purpose?

Stanford biology professor Joan Roughgarden points out in her book Evolution’s Rainbow that most homosexual activity in the animal kingdom serves a fundamentally social purpose. Japanese macaques, for instance, live in female-only societies, arranged in rigid hierarchies. Power and cohesion are established through lesbian couplings, which can last up to four days and seem to prevent violence and aggression. Among many species, in fact, gayness seems to facilitate complex societies. One species of bird has males, females, and “marriage brokers” of a third gender, there to keep the species perpetuating. As adolescents, male bottlenose dolphins perform a kind of oral sex on one another—or in threesomes or foursomes—in rituals that create lifelong friendships and defense partnerships against sharks and other predators.

In most animal societies, not all animals are allowed to mate. Many times, ONLY the strongest are allowed to mate. In lion prides, there is one male but several females. Where are the other males? They are off in male packs, sort of like "sperm in reserve." And in order to cut down on aggression, some are more passive.

Take a look at wolves. There is the alpha male and the alpha female. These are the only two to mate in a wolf pack. So what are the other "lesbian" wolves and "gay" wolves doing? They are simply "sperm and eggs" in reserve. And ALL of the pack members help with the feeding, caring, and protection of the offspring!

Take a look at geese. Most will pair off, but a few will form triads made up of one "straight" female, one "bisexual" male, and one "gay" male. The offspring of these triads have a better survival rate because of more food and better protection from three rather than two.

Then there are Black Swans! Some male swans form stable, long-lasting relationships with other males and occasionally raise children together. Males may have sex with a female, build a nest with her, and then chase the female away once she has laid the egg. The male then raises the baby with his male partner. Other times gay couples chase heterosexual couples from their nests, then raise the chick as if it were their own. These homosexual couples are frequently better-suited to parenting than their heterosexual counterparts — as two males, they can secure a bigger territory. Since it is possible for these swans to raise a family without having sex with a female, some swans are most likely exclusively homosexual. (http://www.esquire.com/the-side/opinion/gayanimals030707-3)
Even with the lowly bedbug, males will ejaculate their sperm into other males. When those "pregnate males" mate with females, they eject not their own sperm, but the sperm they are carry from the initial "top dog!" The top dog is clearly at an advantage in spreading his genes.

So you see, there are some very clear examples in the animal kingdom about why "gay" animals came into existence – and why we are still around and why the "gay gene" doesn’t die out in nature. Homosexuality clearly serves a purpose for the overall benefit of its specific animal group.

Some people swear by cold slices of cucumber. There is a very natural ingredient that helps to reduce swelling.
Be VERY careful of using Preparation H. A little goes a very long way and it is anything but natural. It can also sting the eyes.
I do know of one specific product that is VERY good and is easy to take around with you during the day. It is from Mary Kay Cosmetics and it is called Indulge Soothing Eye Gel. It is only $15 and is well worth the money. I have used it for years and years. I can actually buy it from the company at cost because I am a consultant for them.
You could try to find a consultant local to you by going to www.MaryKay.com and use the Consultant Locator. All you have to know is your zip code.
